Hi, I’m Britt

What draws me to this work is that it is fundamentally about freedom — freedom to unlearn old rules and habits, freedom to choose how you respond rather than being driven by uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. I find that meaningful. The people I work with are often very capable and very stuck at the same time, and watching that change is what keeps me engaged in this work.

I'm a Seattle-based therapist with 15 years of experience. Before starting my private practice I worked in community mental health centers, including seven years with the UW Medicine/Harborview’s Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program. My advanced clinical training is in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy — contemporary, contextual behavioral, evidence-based approaches that help people change through understanding relational patterns, developing mindfulness, and taking action guided by their values rather than their fears.

I also hold specialized training as a Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C), which means I have particular experience supporting people through the ways that becoming a parent reshapes identity, relationships, and sense of self.

Outside of my therapy practice, I am a lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State: License LW60907034.
